Janet Smith, PMHNP-BC, DNP
Board-certified Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric specialty.

Dr. Smith has worked in mental health for over 40 years; she has experience working with all types of mental health issues and believes in the mind/body approach to wellness, recovery treatment. She believes in collaborating with the individual in the treatment plan and using complementary medicine. She received her doctorate in Nursing Practice from Brandman University in 2014, and her Masters in Nursing Science from University of Phoenix in 2004. She treats patients age sixteen and older. She is a member of Association of Nurse Executives, Association of California Nurse Leaders, and Association of Psychiatric Nurses. She has a strong background in Nursing Administration, and has spent many years teaching other Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners.  Dr. Smith does comprehensive evaluations and medication management, including writing prescriptions and brief psychotherapy. 

Kevin Kinback, M.D.

Board-certified Adult Psychiatrist, TMS Specialist

Graduating from Loma Linda University Medical School in 1992, Dr. Kinback did psychiatry training at Loma Linda, was Chief Resident, and remains on the faculty as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry.  He began private practice in Mission Viejo in 1995.  With a keen interest in cutting-edge medicine, Advanced TMS was founded in 2009.  Specializing in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy for treatment-resistant depression, Dr. Kinback has treated hundreds of with TMS therapy.  He is certified on 3 different TMS devices, with a cutting-edge office including electronic medical records, patient & peer portals, genetic testing for personalized prescribing, EKG & lab services.  Dr. Kinback brings high quality TMS therapy to Orange County, and is a leader in the Clinical TMS Society.  Sometimes Dr. Kinback can be spotted training the adorable therapy dog at the office.
Dr. Kinback is Bilingual in English and Spanish. 

Dr. Ghobadi is a native of Dallas, Texas and is of Iranian descent, speaking both English and Farsi.  His specialities are adolescent and adult psychiatric treatment with medications and psychotherapy, as well as TMS.  He completed residency training in Arkansas in June 2019, after serving as Chief Resident, Chair of Resident Council, as Psychiatric Resident Representative for Graduate Medical Education, and Program Evaluation Committee representative. Dr. Ghobadi ran a randomized prospective blinded study on inpatient adolescents with posttraumatic stress disorder. He has training in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy, and will also be doing Spravato (ketamine) treatment in his patients.   Dr. Ghobadi is exceptionally good on the computer, as well as giving compassionate and quality patient care.  He is in network with Medicare and will shortly be participating in all insurance networks. 

Dr. Michele A. Okonski is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, graduating from Nova Southeastern University School of Psychology in 1995, with an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship at the VA  Hospital in Loma Linda.  She has experience with inpatient and outpatient care on many different levels including treatment planning, crisis intervention, psychosocial evaluation and traditional  psychotherapy.  These roles give her extensive experience and training in different psychotherapy approaches, and strategies to provide personalized and customized treatment for each patient.   Her experience includes treating anxiety, depression, addictions/substance abuse and eating disorders.  This treatment approach provides a very safe and supportive atmosphere to reach treatment goals, typically including:  relationship and interpersonal coping skills, analyzing interactions between brain biology and behavior, understanding personality dynamics, addressing emotional difficulties, and personal development.  She is an expert in helping individuals replace maladaptive behavior patterns with more constructive and effective ones.

Advanced TMS Center's mission is to provide personalized, high-quality care to patients ages 15 and over, as well as families.  We have created a practice that we believe in and choose for our own family members.

We are a full-service psychiatry practice of dedicated, experienced practitioners who believe in working with our patients to maintain and improve their health.  We work together to serve your entire family for any and all mental health needs.  Our physicians, nurse practitioners and psychotherapists believe in providing comprehensive health care services in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We also believe in educating our patients as we work with them to achieve the best possible health.  

Each physician is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, and comes to our practice with years of experience in their area of specialty.  Our board-certified nurse practitioners always consult with the attending physician prior to working with each patient in order to provide informed, consistent care at all times.  Physician extenders are closely supervised by Dr. Kinback.

Elham Hunt is an independent practitioner who shares the office with ATMS Center. Ms. Hunt is bilingual in English & Farsi. Ellie specializes in family therapy, child and parenting issues, as well as individual therapy.  She is contracted with most commercial insurance and Caloptima, but not Medicare.   Please call Ellie directly at 949-456-4265 to schedule an appointment.
